In 1982, Bucas produced the first high performance water resistant turnout rug. This was followed by the first fully waterproof and breathable rugs by the end of the eighties. Bucas have also perfected the "Stay-Dry" principle of using wicking linings that transport sweat and moisture away from the horse while the inside of the lining remains dry

The Comfort Front Pad provides additional comfort and protects from front straps and fasteners
Using high performance materials on the Power and Smartex ranges ensures that they cover a wider temperature range of use

Bucas Irish Horse Turnout Rug

The Irish Turnout range offers exceptionally good performance and value and an amazing flexibility to suit the particular requirements for your horse. There is a choice of two weights - Light and Extra. The Turnout Light has a 50g layer of polyester wadding between the lining and outer fabric. This light insulation greatly increases usability. The Classic-Cut Irish Turnouts come with attachment points for the Irish Turnout Combi-Neck allowing full protection of the neck.

The Bucas Smartex Turnout range offers strength, durability and quality. The Stay-Dry lining offers perfect comfort and protection at both lower and higher temperatures than other rugs of similar weight. The rug can be put on a wet horse the same way as a sweat rug.
